After His Split From Blac Chyna, Rob Kardashian Revealed A Dramatic Weight Loss Photo

For many people, there may come a time when they feel the need to adopt a healthier lifestyle. And as a result of that intention, they might lose a bit of weight along the way. Rob Kardashian can certainly relate to this notion, as he decided to shed some pounds following a rather tumultuous period in his life.

The youngest of the four Kardashian children, Rob entered into the world of reality television back in 2007. Since then, he’s been a regular figure featuring in Keeping Up with the Kardashians and a couple of its spin-off shows. And due to his considerable fame, his personal life has also been under the glare of the spotlight.

Over the course of Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s first two years, you see, Rob was in a relationship with actress Adrienne Bailon. And after they broke up, he then got together with singer Rita Ora for a brief period of time. Yes, he was no stranger to dating women in the public eye. But in 2016 the reality star nonetheless experienced a truly whirlwind year.

Shortly after Rob discovered that he had diabetes towards the end of 2015, he formed a relationship with a model named Blac Chyna. Furthermore, the couple got engaged and had their first baby – before breaking up in December 2016. But just over a year on from that drama, Rob emerged sporting a new look.

Rob’s life and appearance weren’t always such a source of public scrutiny, though. Born in March 1987, the star grew up alongside his elder siblings Kim, Kourtney and Khloé in Los Angeles, California. His dad, Robert, plied his trade as a lawyer, while also owning a business named Movie Tunes, Inc. And as for the future celeb’s mom, Kris, she used to run a boutique store.

In 1991, though, there were some big changes in the Kardashian family. That year, after all, Robert and Kris brought their marriage to an end. The latter then tied the knot a month later with Bruce Jenner. And as a result of that union, Rob and his sisters now had four step-siblings. Soon, then, the family would welcome two more in Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

But over a decade on from that, Rob and his family then suffered a heartbreaking loss. Indeed, Robert sadly passed away from cancer in 2003, leaving his four children behind. Following the death of their father, then, the quartet inherited Movie Tunes, Inc. – before eventually relinquishing control. But that wasn’t the end of the significant changes to their lives.

That’s right: in the fall of 2007, a new reality television show hit the small screen. Titled Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the program followed the everyday lives of the family. It proved to be a big success on the E! Network, with well over a million viewers tuning in during the opening few weeks.

From that strong start, the show continued to grow in popularity, with an average viewership of approximately 1.6 million watching the sophomore season. Since then, the program has been a mainstay on the E! Network, reaching its 16th season back in March 2019. A few years prior, though, the channel’s chief had attempted to explain why so many viewers were drawn to the family.

“At their core, the Kardashians are an incredibly bonded, loving, large family who live an incredibly large life,” Suzanne Kolb told The Wrap in December 2011. “And if you actually look at the history of television, there’s a pretty large number of families with that blend resonating with viewers. This just happens to be the first reality show that does it.”

Kolb’s thoughts didn’t end there, though. “It’s just an incredibly fascinating drama,” she continued. “But at its core, you know that they’re going to end up around that dinner table together. I think there’s something emotionally aspirational around that family dynamic and visually aspirational about the way that family lives.”

Kolb then made a very interesting point regarding the Kardashians’ legions of fans. According to the network president, those particular individuals tend to feel a clear connection with the famous family. “From every piece of research I’ve seen, people aspire to be them or to befriend them,” she added.

Moreover, Keeping Up with the Kardashians continued to establish itself as one of the most popular reality shows on television. Rob, of course, made frequent appearances. Over the course of its lengthy run, in fact, Rob’s featured in just under 100 episodes. But in addition to this, he didn’t forget about his academic studies.

Rob was a business student at the University of Southern California, where he eventually earned his diploma back in 2009. And following those efforts, there was a possibility that the youngest Kardashian sibling would persist with his higher education. However, Rob’s life took an intriguing turn when he opted against that particular path.

And Rob decided to build on his career as a reality television star in the years that followed. What’s more, in 2011 he was one of the participants on Dancing with the Stars, a popular dance contest involving different celebrities. The graduate went on to enjoy great success that season, finishing just behind the eventual winners.

Alongside that achievement, Rob still appeared on Keeping Up with the Kardashians as well as two of its spin-off shows. During a four-year period, in fact, Rob featured in five episodes of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, with his final appearance coming in 2013. And as for the other program, the TV star played a slightly bigger role.

You see, Rob additionally featured in more than ten episodes of Khloé & Lamar – before leaving the show in 2012. That year, he also appeared in programs such as The Choice and The 2012 Miss USA Beauty Pageant. But that wasn’t all, as the former business student put some of those savvy skills to use in starting his own sock company.

During that busy period, there were other aspects of Rob’s life that continued to be put under the spotlight, mind you. For years, he had supposedly found it difficult to control his weight, noting the issue on Keeping up with the Kardashians. And at one point in his struggle, Rob had reportedly put on around 100 pounds.

Off the back of those problems, Rob had then suffered a health scare in the winter of 2015. And after being admitted to hospital, he was informed by doctors that he had diabetes. From there, the business owner opened up about his medical problems on social media in 2016, taking to Instagram to discuss the subject.

Rob told his followers that he weighed just under 250 pounds at that time, with aspirations of losing around 40 or 50 pounds. Then later that year things started to change for him as he formed a romance. And following some high-profile relationships, this one appeared to be very different in comparison.

Indeed, Rob started seeing a model named Angela Renée White – better known as Blac Chyna – at the beginning of 2016. A former stripper, Chyna went on to establish herself as a popular model in America back in 2010. So, after Rob and Chyna kicked off their relationship, their lives took an exciting turn.

Yes, Rob and Chyna got engaged in April 2016, sharing the announcement on social media. The positive news didn’t end there, though. In fact, the pair then revealed in September that they were expecting a baby girl. And some two months on from that disclosure, Dream Renée Kardashian was welcomed into the world.

During that hectic period, too, Chyna put together a diet for her fiancé to follow. Rob was told, for instance, to avoid red meat and any items that contained carbs. And due to this new regime, it’s been reported that the California native shed around 40 pounds in weight.

But everything changed again for the couple in December 2016. At that point, you see, Rob and Chyna’s whirlwind romance came to an end – with the former confirming the news on social media. And to further compound the situation, Rob then found himself in the hospital as a result of his diabetes.

Following the break-up, you see, it’s believed by some that Rob put the weight back on, reverting to his previous shape. Rob was subsequently kicked off the website for his explicit posts – but his life began to alter again later that year. And according to a supposed insider for People magazine, the new dad looked to get back into shape in the fall of 2017. Rob apparently received plenty of encouragement and support from his family during that time, too.

“It’s like Rob is finally realizing the seriousness of being overweight and not taking care of himself,” the insider apparently told the magazine in October 2017. “His family has been pushing very hard for him to work on himself. They keep telling him that he has no choice because Dream needs a healthier dad.”

While Rob was apparently aware of what he needed to do for himself and his daughter, he seemingly didn’t find the process particularly easy. “[It’s] very difficult for Rob to get motivated, especially when it comes to his diet,” the magazine insider supposedly continued. “[He] is very much addicted to junk food.”

People’s source also allegedly revealed a bit more about Rob’s plan of action. “He is now working with a nutritionist to make healthier choices,” the magazine quoted the source. “Rob needs someone to be held accountable to – someone that he sees on a regular basis and that won’t accept bad food decisions. His family is hoping he will finally change.”

Those hopes appeared to have been realized by March 2018 – as Rob enjoyed his 31st birthday. At this time of celebration, you see, he was pictured holding his daughter, and the parent was looking a lot slimmer than before. And off the back of that, he then shared the photo on his Snapchat account, which garnered plenty of attention.

As it turned out, then, one family member in particular had played a key role in Rob’s incredible transformation. Yes, after delivering her first child the previous month, Kylie Jenner helped her half-brother in his quest to lose weight. And thanks to those efforts, the siblings’ relationship supposedly hit new heights in the weeks that followed.

“Rob’s been taking his bonding time with Kylie to the next level and has been working out with her every other day,” an apparent insider supposedly told Hollywood Life in March 2018. “Seeing the weight fall off has been huge in helping Rob get his confidence back. Kylie challenged and pushed Rob to be better for Dream, and that’s all the motivation he needed.”

From there, the source reportedly delved into the work that Rob had been doing. “Rob is staying disciplined and sticking with a strict nutritional program that he’s been put on to get his weight down as well,” they apparently continued. “And it makes it easier for him since Dream keeps him pretty active already.”

And the website’s source supposedly added, “[Rob is] having a blast chasing [Dream] around and seeing her grow up so fast.” Meanwhile, the individual reportedly also shed some light on the bond that was formed between Rob and Kylie. According to Hollywood Life, then, the siblings’ relationship was stronger than ever before – and the source apparently cited a couple of reasons.

“Rob’s been leaning heavily on his younger sister for support in getting his confidence back,” the insider reportedly said. “And their connection goes back to when Kylie was pretty much holed up inside most days and really only traveled between her own house and Kris’ home. During that time he got to spend a lot of time with her. They’ve never been closer.”

The source also apparently lifted the lid on Rob and Kylie’s daily activities together. They reportedly claimed that the reality star had been assisting his sister with her baby girl, Stormi Webster, during that period. And in addition to that, Dream had supposedly been bonding with her older relative as well.

“They’ve grown really tight in the last few months, and Rob has been giving Kylie advice on parenthood whenever she asks him for tips,” the source apparently told Hollywood Life. “Rob thinks Kylie is a great mom, and he can already see how much her temperament has changed since she’s been a mother. He couldn’t be more happy for her.”

The insider supposedly added, “Much of [Rob’s] days are centered around performing daddy duties with Dream and helping Kylie out with whatever Stormi needs while he’s looking after Dream. And Dream can’t get enough of her Aunt Kylie.” And as for Rob’s new figure, he clearly looked to maintain it in the months that followed.

By the summer of 2019, then, Rob had started a regimen that took him back to the gym. And after getting into the swing of things again, the Kardashian shared an update with his fans via Twitter. That particular tweet went on to earn over 12,000 likes and close to 250 retweets. The support for his dedication didn’t end there, however.

Indeed, Rob’s older sister Khloé shared her thoughts on his progress during an interview with Entertainment Tonight in June 2019. “Rob is doing great, he really is,” she said. “He goes to Kim’s, he’s worked out for like the past five days or so, and he’s kicking a**. And I just want Rob to do what’s best for him and what makes him happy.”
