Famed shock jock Howard Stern is known for pushing the boundaries of broadcasting during his radio shows. But behind the scenes, the man himself is apparently much softer than his on-air persona might initially imply. And this is something to which his wife of the past 11 years can undoubtedly attest.
It was in the year 2000 that Howard first encountered Beth Ostrosky at a party. This was only a year after his first marriage to Alison Berns had disintegrated. But that didn’t stop the radio personality from falling for the writer and model. The pair quickly embarked on a relationship.
Given that his first marriage had failed, Howard was initially hesitant to rush into another. But after seven years, it seemed that the time had come to finally tie the knot. Apparently in the midst of an intimate moment, Howard proposed to Beth. She said yes, and by 2008 the two were taking their vows.
Apparently, a key aspect of the couple’s relationship is their shared passion for animals. Beth herself has penned a successful book about dogs, and the pair are both associated with the North Shore Animal League. In fact, they’re said to have fostered hundreds of cats and dogs in their time.
Of course, it’s not all about animals. According to website Her Moments, Beth herself traces the strength of their marriage to Howard and his more gentle attributes. In her words, “We appreciate each other, and he really listens to everything I say. I think he is quite a catch – the perfect husband.”
