Jersey Shore’s Snooki Justified Putting Her Children In Strollers In An Instagram Post

Nicole LaValle, formerly Polizzi, is better known by her nickname, Snooki. The Chilean-born reality TV personality first rose to fame on MTV’s Jersey Shore, and in ten years has maintained her popularity through talk show appearances, Jersey Shore spin-offs and wrestling. Her 13 million Instagram followers saw her agree to marry Jionni LaValle in 2012 and welcome three children over the next seven years. The couple got hitched in late 2014.

With such an established social media presence, it’s inevitable that some followers will have something to say about Snooki’s life choices. In particular, her style of parenting has sometimes been criticized. For instance, in May 2018 she posted a selfie showing her eldest son, Lorenzo, having a meltdown behind her. Some fans were apparently unimpressed with her choice to disregard tantrums.

In another example, in July 2019 Snooki posted an image in which she was enjoying a glass of red wine while bottle-feeding her newborn Angelo. Of course, outrage erupted online, with critics saying moms should avoid alcohol while breastfeeding. Typically, however, Snooki fired back, suggesting people should not pass judgment until their sanity had been compromised by three kids. The wine, she argued, was a means of self-care.

Snooki came under fire again when, before Angelo arrived, she and Jionni vacationed with friends and their kids at Florida’s Disney World in April 2019. So what did Snooki do this time that riled so many people? Well, six-year-old Lorenzo and his four-year-old sister Giovanna were pictured sitting in strollers. Cue apoplectic observers complaining they were too old not to walk.

But Snooki, as ever, was not about to be mom-shamed. In a since-deleted comment, she wrote, “They walk! But in large crowds I prefer they sit their [backsides] down. Saves me the stress of not losing my offspring.” In solidarity, one commenter responded, “Good for you if your child will walk ten miles at Disney World,” adding, “I’m 32 years old and I would ride in a stroller too around Disney.”
