This divorcee mom was bullied about her looks ever since childhood. Then, somebody said something which flipped a switch in her brain. It was time to go under the knife to transform herself into her celebrity idol. When she recovered from the surgery, her family and friends couldn’t believe their eyes.
Claudia Sierra is a 42-year-old woman from Houston, Texas. In October 2017, she hit local and international headlines because of a bold decision she made about her appearance. Sierra’s issues with the way she looked stemmed all the way back to her childhood.
She used to be the victim of bullies who would target her because of her appearance. Ever since she was just seven years old, Sierra was self-concious about the proportions of her nose and her somewhat darker skin tone after being taunted by others around her.
The years of bullying had a profound affect on Sierra, and decades later she still struggled with poor self-esteem. Having divorced her husband and battled through breast cancer treatment, Sierra’s confidence was at an all-time low, thanks to a thoughtless remark made by a guy she dated.
It was the first date she had been on since recovering from cancer, but it didn’t go well at all. The man asked to see Sierra’s driver’s license, so that he could verify her age, which is pretty rude in the first place. But then, he said something incredibly cruel.
The man told the now 42-year-old divorcee and cancer survivor that she looked older than her age, and it devastated Sierra. Speaking to the Daily Mail, she said that that date was the “last straw.” So, she decided to do something truly drastic to her appearance.
The Houston mom had always been a fan of Melania Trump, describing her as “the most beautiful woman.” But, the divorced mother was now at the point where she wanted to transform herself into her idol. And the only way to do that was through plastic surgery.
Speaking to Inside Edition, Sierra said, “I definitely want to look like Melania Trump…What is there not to like? She’s perfect to me. This is the perfect woman.” And after years of bullying and cruel remarks, she was ready to surgically alter her appearance to achieve her goal of looking like the First Lady.
Sierra got in touch with plastic surgeon, Dr. Franklin Rose, who accepted the challenge. Dr. Rose told Daily Mail that he thought his patient was already “a very pretty girl.” But together they made a plan to turn Sierra into Melania, and it wasn’t a straightforward job.
In fact, in order to achieve the perfect result, it was agreed that Sierra would have an incredible nine different surgeries on various parts of her body. And, the bill at the end of it all was huge. Sierra paid a total of $50,000 to turn herself into her idol.
But to her, it was worth every last penny. After years of feeling under-confident, Sierra spoke to Inside Edition post-surgery and said, “I absolutely love my transformation.” She found a new source of self-esteem and suddenly felt as though she could “approach anyone to talk to them.”
And she’s been loving all the attention that she’s been getting, too. “I definitely turn heads, I get looked at and look like a different person, I feel so good about myself now,” she told the Daily Mail. Her family, too, were “amazed” by the transformation.
Sierra’s breasts went from a 34C to a 30G, and that was just one of the procedures she underwent to look like the First Lady. On top of that she also had a nose job, tummy tuck, liposuction, a Brazilian butt lift, botox, fillers, an eyelid lift and laser surgery.
To complete the look, Sierra had work done on her teeth, hair extensions attached, blue eye contacts put in, a spray tan — to name but a few of the extras that went into creating the polished look of Melania. The determined lady also employed the help of a personal trainer to whip her into shape.
And what about those that used to bully her? Well, Sierra says that the boys that used to tease her for her looks are the very same ones that are now asking her out on dates. Her doctor thinks that Sierra looks wonderful too, telling Daily Mail how “super elegant and beautiful” she looks.
Sierra described herself as a “phoenix” that has been reborn, and has reassured the media that she made the decision to drastically change for no-one but herself. “Unfortunately, we don’t know how long we have here, so while I’m here, I wanted to be happy and I wanted to shine,” she told NY Daily News in October 2017.
Transformed and fully confident in her own skin, Sierra has decided to turn her attention to helping others. In particular, she is reaching out to those struggling with self-esteem issues as a result of verbal abuse and bullying, and has put all her efforts into a nationwide campaign.
“Now I’m going to show the world who I am and I’m starting an anti-bullying movement to speak to children, parents and people to help them overcome it,” she told the Daily Mail. Although the mom solved her problems with plastic surgery, she recognizes that going under the knife might not be the solution for others.
Sierra, who is described by her surgeon as “hyper-beautiful,” is filled with so much confidence post-op that she wants to show off her new look and “go out, to dinner and dancing.” Having spent so long feeling bad about herself, now is her chance to step into the limelight.
Taking inspiration from the FLOTUS, Sierra intends to hold her head up high, despite all the criticism that comes her way. Melania Trump “remains a powerful, strong woman,” according to Sierra, and that’s exactly the way that she would like to be regarded, too.
